This is a pretty common problem. Phantom water noises in the toilet usually heard in the middle of the night (because it’s quiet). Most of the time this is caused by a worn out flapper which is real easy to replace but sometimes it is the rim on the flush valve. In the case of the rim on the flush valve being worn, you would need to replace the whole flush valve as he has done in the video. But I would start by just replacing the flapper. In my experience that does the trick most of the time. Either way it’s a pretty easy fix.

Update Your Kitchen With Paint
Ok here’s my disclaimer. I have never used this product myself. But that’s only because I didn’t know about it. But you can see the results for yourself. If you’d like to give your kitchen a makeover for a minimal cost compared to refacing and tile work, this is a great option. Very little prep work compared to the traditional way you would paint cabinets. They claim the paint will stick to anything so you can actually change the look of your tile backsplash also. They don’t reveal the brand of paint in the video but with a little sleuthing it is clear that the paint is a product called Beyond Paint and it is available at Home Depot. I will say that the paint is not cheap at $100/gal but considering all the work you would save in sanding and priming it is worth the trade off. This paint will give you a slightly textured finish so if you are looking for a slick smooth look this is not for you. But as you can see in this video the transformation of this kitchen was pretty phenomenal.
Smart Home Hub
On a previous post I showed you a very inexpensive security camera. That camera can be easily viewed on your smart phone. But there is another way also. With one of these Amazon Echo Show devices. If you don’t already have an Echo Dot or any type of Alexa powered device, then you should really look into one. An Echo Dot is a fairly inexpensive personal assistant device. It can do a multitude of things to help simplify your life. With the Echo show however, you have a screen. So you can do many more things. One of those things is viewing your security cameras and the Wyze Cam I wrote about earlier will connect to this in a snap. Just say “Alexa show me the driveway cam” and voilà, there it is on the screen. Of course the Echo Show does many more things like controlling your smart lights, smart locks and the many, many things you see in this video. If you’re thinking about making your home “smarter”, one of these devices is a good way to start. They’re not complicated to set up and they come in a variety of screen sizes. Security Camera
I’ve been using Wyze cams around my house for the last few years. For the price I don’t think they can be beat. The night vision on this V3 is unbelievable. If you’re new to home security this is a great way to get started. These cameras are available on the Wyze website, Amazon and I’ve even seen them in Home Depot. Setup is super simple. All you need is WiFi, a cell phone and the Wyze app. You can’t go wrong for $20 with this.
